SKIRMISH: The Armed and the Miserable

"When the going got tough, the tough joined the army. The Prince-Regent’s coin spent the world round, and plowshares traded for swords became the order of the day. As time passed, however, and more children of the Mordaunt Empire died on the front lines, dissent began to brew within the common people. The war had gone on too long. The activists, mostly students, the orphaned children of parents who went off to fight in the early stages of the war, began to organize into a real resistance, and it wasn’t long until certain elements of the Ventrasse Alliance took notice. With covert military training, the well-read and fervent supporters of the revolution rapidly formed into a dangerous fifth column within the Empire. Now, their song rises again. Some will fall, and some will live, so stand up and take your chance."

The Armed and the Miserable is an army that can be put to use by Ventrasse generals in the wargame Skirmish, by Biscuit Fund Games. Virtually guaranteed to have superior numbers over their enemy, this proletariat uprising seeks to overthrow the ruling class of the Mordaunt Empire to establish a more egalitarian government. This suits the Ventrasse Alliance quite well, and they've been more happy to lend their support to the growing political movement.
