Because it ain’t the same river and he ain’t the same man. Time changes things, people too.  Well, this is you, up on the left, right? No lights on, you sure someone’s home waiting for you? Nah, don’t worry about the fare, it's not every day you get to help someone come home."

Homeward Dark is the spiritual successor to my 2019 game, Found by Rescuers. Like Found by Rescuers, its a single player journaling game about one person, surviving 12 hours in an isolated place, using a standard deck of cards to generate a unique adventure from a selection of 52 prompts. In Found by Rescuers, you were a hiker trapped on a tempestuous mountain, stalked by mysterious shapes of unknown origin. In Homeward Dark, you are coming back to Home after a long period away, but the home you left no longer exists, your past with it examined through your Memories. It has been fundamentally changed by the Corporation, an enigmatic entity with unknown goals, the halls are stalked by the Horrors of their making. Staying alive is more dangerous than ever, even in this familiar place, but the home is filled with unique tools to help you survive the Homeward Dark
